| Teamwork |
 |
| "Teamwork is the essential building block of this program." |
 |
All coaches and players will teach and follow the Foundation Of Excellence philosophy.
These are proven principles that have been developed over many successful seasons by championship teams. |
| The team is the joining of individuals into one cohesive group. |
| In teamwork, you do things that are good for the team and not necessarily for yourself. |
| Teams help each other out through good times and bad. |
| Teams have fun together. |
| Teammates are loyal to each other. |
| Together Everyone Achieves More! |
| |
| Foundation of Excellence |
 |
"100% effort!!! Personal effort probably separates the average person
from
the champion more often than raw athletic talent." |
 |
| Aggressive Defense The defense is a group of intense, aggressive, and swarming players who are constantly on the attack.
They are taught to take away opponents strengths. They are disciplined in carrying out their assignments.
The defense will swarm to the ball when it is on the ground and fly to it when in the air.
Championships will be won because of the play of the defense! |
 |
| Scoring Special Teams Everyone knows how a great return or a blocked kick can affect a game. The kicking game has to be practiced every day.
The players must understand the importance of their assignments. Special teams need to score and not to be scored upon. |
 |
| Ball Control A great offense controls the ball. A team has to be able to run the ball to be successful.
The individual talent of the team determines the ratio of pass to run in each game. A diversified
attack keeps opponents off balance and unable to concentrate on stopping a particular phase of the offense.
An offensive player must have a defensive mentality to be successful. |
 |
| Discipline Teams need discipline to survive. “Was I on time?” “Did I remember the play?” “Have I been making
good decisions in my life?” All of these questions have to do with discipline.
You must be willing to sacrifice for the good of the team. |
 |
Effort
100% effort!!! Personal effort probably separates the average person from the champion
more often than raw athletic talent. Athletes and teams need to improve every day to be successful.
Teams that improve daily usually end up battling for conference and state championships. |
 |
Attitude
A positive mental attitude is the key to success in any phase of life. The athlete believes in
himself, his teammates and coaches. He sets goals and strives to achieve them. He is a caring, thinking,
and responsible person. Occasionally, he makes a mistake, but learns from it and goes on.
He is self-motivated. |
